Competency addressed: Henri Claude Moungui and Shannon O’Brien, doctoral students, shared their research topics, objectives, and some results, creating valuable spaces for reflection and knowledge exchange. Their discussions provided an opportunity to analyse different research approaches, understand diverse methodological frameworks, and reflect on how their experiences could inform and enhance my own thesis development.
Reflection on learning undertaken: Engaging in discussions with fellow doctoral students has reinforced the importance of collaborative learning and interdisciplinary perspectives. By examining different research methodologies and approaches, I have been able to critically evaluate my own research design, identify potential improvements in my methodology, and consider alternative ways to interpret my findings. Additionally, learning from their experiences in data collection, analysis, and thesis structuring has provided practical insights that I can apply to refine my own research process. This exchange of knowledge has been instrumental in shaping the way I approach challenges, helping me develop a more strategic and adaptable mindset in my PhD journey.
